Different Tempers of 5454 Aluminum in Tank Truck
5454 aluminum alloy belongs to the Al-Mg alloy series and has many excellent properties. Its strength is about 20% higher than that of the 5052 aluminum plate of the same series, which makes it perform better when subjected to pressure and external force impact. At the same time, it maintains good corrosion resistance and can be used for a long time in harsh environments without being easily corroded.
In addition, 5454 aluminum alloy also has excellent thermal conductivity, weldability and anti-electromagnetic radiation, which lays the foundation for its wide application in tank car manufacturing.
Commonly used 5454 aluminum alloy tempers in tank car manufacturing
O temper: 5454-O aluminum has good flexibility and plasticity. In the manufacturing of some non-critical structural parts of tank trucks, such as some interior decorative parts or some parts that need to fit special shapes, 5454-O aluminum alloy can meet the processing requirements well and ensure the accuracy and quality of the parts.
H111 temper: 5454 h111 has certain strength and hardness while retaining good processing performance. It is suitable for parts that need to withstand certain pressure but have requirements for molding process. 5454 h111 aluminum not only ensures the strength and stability of the cylinder, but also can be smoothly formed during the processing process, reducing the occurrence of processing defects.
H32 temper: 5454 h32 aluminum is further improved in strength and hardness through cold working and partial annealing. It is suitable for key parts of tank trucks, such as baffles or bulkheads. 5454 h32 alloy can effectively guarantee the function of baffles and improve the stability and safety of tank truck driving with its high strength and good impact resistance.
H34 temper: 5454 h34 aluminum has a higher degree of cold working, which makes it superior to H32 in terms of strength and hardness. In terms of ductility, since H34 has undergone more cold working, its grain structure is finer, the material becomes harder and more brittle, and the ductility is reduced relative to H32.
Application of 5454 aluminum alloy in other parts of tank trucks
In addition to the above-mentioned cylinder and baffles, 5454 aluminum alloy is also widely used in other parts of tank trucks. For example, in the pipeline system of some tank trucks, 5454 aluminum alloy can ensure that the pipeline will not leak due to corrosion during the liquid transportation process due to its good corrosion resistance and weldability, and it is convenient for the connection and installation between pipelines.
In addition, in some supporting structural parts of tank trucks, the high strength and light weight characteristics of 5454 aluminum alloy can not only ensure the strength of the supporting structure, but also reduce the weight of the whole vehicle and improve transportation efficiency.
